Athena Patterson is a vocalist and a singer / songwriter who plays the piano, guitar, mandolin, dobro and bass. At
18, her vocal power and delivery display an emotional, mature, quality far beyond her years. As a young teen, she has won or placed in various local country and bluegrass competitions. About the age of 9,
Athena's musical journey began with local theater. A guitar and lessons from her father came next, and gave way to competing and performing traditional country music on her own. Three years later, a theater acquaintance invited her to join his youth bluegrass band. It was there she met and shared the stage with young veteran fiddler Martin Stevens. After honing their skills, together in
2001 they formed "Athena and The River City Boys". Today Athena and the boys continue to captivate local and regional audiences of all ages. |
