Tristan Schumacher
is a talented, energetic 17 year old bass player who competed and won at his first bluegrass festival bass contest. At the age of 12 he was invited by Martin Stevens, his long time theater friend, to join him and Athena Patterson, to form a trio. Tristan is ARCB's youngest and newest member to the music scene. In addition to the stand up bass, Tristan plays the electric bass and guitar for the band. He sings lead and harmony vocals as well.
Adding to his musical achievements, at the age of 14, Tristan co-stared with Jonah the chimpanzee in the latest "Trunk Monkey" commercial for Suburban Auto. Don't be surprised if you see him on a national T.V. channel sometime! |

Martin
Stevens is
a multi-instrumentalist, the oldest of the group at 19, and no stranger to
northwest bluegrass audiences. As a youngster, he was influenced by his
older brother's bluegrass band. Martin has performed with various adult
bands throughout his childhood, and has been competing since the age of 6
when he first picked up a fiddle. He has won and placed in many local,
regional, state, and national fiddle contests. In addition to his fiddling
accomplishments, he has won awards for vocal and other string instruments
in both the adult and youth divisions. Martin has shared the stage with
musicians such as grammy nominee Chris Thile of "Nickel Creek",
David Grisman, and Mike Marshall. As a member of ARCB, Martin plays the
fiddle, mandolin, banjo, and guitar, and sings lead and harmony vocals.
